The University of Toronto is seeing more international students from France.

shines a light on international students from France applying to Canadian universities outside of Quebec. Many are interested in the University of Toronto for its high international rankings and excellence in research.

鈥淭his year, we had an increase of 35 per cent in the number of applications from international students 鈥 and a 48 per cent [increase] from France,鈥 Ted Sargent, U of T's vice-president international, told the news magazine based in Paris.

鈥淲e put a lot of energy to recruit top students, wherever they come from. Toronto is one of the most international cities in the world, and our student body is also one of the most diverse. Having French students is interesting for us because it reinforces the international mosaic of the university.鈥
