Darcy Fehlings recognized by American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine

Darcy Fehlings, a senior clinician scientist and developmental pediatrician at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and professor in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine's department of paediatrics, has received a from the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM). 

The prestigious award is granted to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advance the health and well-being of individuals with cerebral palsy and other childhood-onset disabilities. 

Fehlings has devoted her clinical and research work toward enabling meaningful and healthy futures for children and youth living with cerebral palsy. Her work centres on the innovation and evaluation of interventions for children with cerebral palsy.

Fehlings says she is "deeply honoured" to receive the award, and highlighted her belief in collaborative science to advancing research on cerebral palsy. "From a research perspective, my hope is to move boldly forward in partnership with individuals with cerebral palsy and their families to innovate, evaluate and promote ‘positively disruptive’ interventions that will make a positive difference in the well-being of children with cerebral palsy and their families."
